By accessing, browsing, or using Free Metadata Tools (freemetadatatools.com), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any portion of these terms, you must immediately discontinue using our tools.

2. Description of the Service

Free Metadata Tools provides client-side digital utilities designed to inspect, edit, extract, and scrub metadata (such as EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and document properties) from supported file formats (photos, documents, videos, and audio). All processing executes locally within your web browser using WebAssembly and Web Workers. We do not transmit or store your files on our servers.

3. Permitted & Responsible Use

You agree to use Free Metadata Tools exclusively for lawful, ethical purposes. You represent and warrant that you possess all necessary rights, licenses, or ownership permissions to process, alter, or remove metadata from any files you input into the service.

You must not attempt to use automated scraping scripts, launch denial-of-service attacks, reverse engineer non-public application endpoints, or exploit the platform to violate applicable local, national, or international regulations.

4. Intellectual Property & File Ownership

We claim absolutely zero ownership, intellectual property rights, or licensing claims over the files you process. Your images, videos, audio tracks, and PDF documents remain 100% your exclusive property at all times.

The website interface, branding, custom code, layouts, and graphics are the intellectual property of Free Metadata Tools and are protected by applicable copyright laws.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.

We specifically disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. While our algorithms are designed to thoroughly remove identified metadata tags across supported formats, we cannot guarantee that every proprietary or obscure tag embedded by every proprietary device will be 100% recognized or removed under all circumstances.

6. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL FREE METADATA TOOLS, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, FILE CORRUPTION, HARDWARE MALFUNCTION, OR PRIVACY LEAKS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

7. Third-Party Integrations & External Services

When utilizing our optional Google Drive or Dropbox integrations, you interact directly with official third-party APIs via OAuth 2.0. We are not responsible for the availability, service continuity, or policies of Google or Dropbox. Your use of those cloud services is governed by their respective terms and conditions.

8. Termination & Service Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of Free Metadata Tools at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the service.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with standard international digital commerce principles and applicable local legal frameworks, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms & Conditions at our discretion. Any revisions will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Continued use of the tools after revisions constitutes full acceptance of the updated terms.
